Shareholders

We are a company of the ANCAP group (National Administration of Fuels, Alcohols, and Portland) of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, our major shareholder. The remaining participation is in the hands of minority shareholders through the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange.

Our relationship with all of them is manifested directly through periodic Ordinary or Extraordinary Assemblies and through informational meetings where the company’s business and investment progress are explained and detailed.

This information is provided through meetings with the various Directors comprising our governing body or through reports published on the channels used by the company. This allows us to maintain a close, fluid, and transparent relationship that grows continuously and steadily and helps us consolidate the mutual trust that characterizes us in business development.

ANCAP is an integrated energy company belonging to the Uruguayan state. It is a market leader in Uruguay, with a regional focus on fuels, lubricants, Portland cement, and biofuel development. It focuses on customer-user orientation and generating environmental value. It is socially responsible and contributes to the productive and social development of its country throughout its more than eighty years of existence.

Its mission is to ensure the supply of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay based on its energy needs, providing Portland cement and alcohols, all according to regional quality standards and customer-user requirements. It is also oriented toward continuous improvement of efficiency and competitiveness, promoting the integral development and participation of its staff.

Business Policies

Occupational Health and Safety, as well as environmental care and respect, are priorities in all activities conducted by CARBOCLOR S.A.

The protection of lives and property, along with the ongoing concern for avoiding damage to the surrounding environment in which it operates, are the premises on which all the company’s productive processes are based. This is reflected in the statements and principles of its policies, continuous environmental and safety variable controls and monitoring, and, above all, in its investment programs that prioritize these issues.

Business Ethics

At Carboclor S.A., we firmly believe that the only way to achieve the company’s objectives is through ethical and transparent business management.

For this reason, efforts aimed at achieving the highest possible profitability for shareholder investment must be developed within the framework of the utmost legality and rectitude of actions.

The following are priority objectives:

  • Strict compliance with the laws and regulations governing its activities.
  • Strict and punctual compliance with its tax and social security obligations.
  • Establishing ethically unquestionable relationships between its personnel and suppliers, contractors, customers, intermediaries, peer companies and competitors, authorities, officials, union leaders, community representatives in the area, and the general public.
  • Respect for commitments made, except in cases of insurmountable force majeure.

No employee is authorized to violate these principles, regardless of the reason, nor is anyone obliged to follow orders that contradict them.

In case of doubt, the situation should be submitted to Management through the respective supervisory line.
